Ducted Inline Fan Extraction

For commercial installations, large homes or areas where it’s impractical to install Eco Fans, or where more air flow is require, an inline fan extraction system is sometimes recommended.

Ducting and Air Vent

Ducting and Air Vent

Product Details

The in-line fan is installed within the subfloor; air conditioning type ducting is run to various points throughout the subfloor. The system is then ‘balanced’ by adding baffles, so the air flow can be regulated evenly throughout the entire length of ducting, and damp stale air is sucked from all points within the subfloor.

The most powerful option is to use a centrifugal in-line fan which can be installed anywhere along the duction and connected to multiple areas. A typical fan has a capacity of 440m3/hr and uses 80W power. Significantly, it will move a large amount of air with ducting and multiple vents connected to it.

Design and Quotation Required

With this method we are in fact designing a ‘one off’ system and every project, whilst following the basic principle of air extraction, is custom built.

With Moisture Cure’s help, this system can also be installed by the home owner or handy man, and we can offer complete installation of this system in most areas. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Did You Know

  • Our product knowledge

and ongoing customer service is unbeatable. We are set up for speedy and reliable despatch to anywhere within Australia. All products carry a warranty and we offer a seven day free trial on our dehumidifiers. Ask about our extended warranty!

  • If your sub-floor

area is damp or musty increase the ventilation. Clear shrubs and plants away from existing air vents, and install extra vents where possible. Your subfloor is no different to the inside of your home, requiring plenty of air movement. If dampness persists, consider installing an Edmonds Eco-Fan.

  • To dry your home thoroughly
When you first install your dehumidifier, dry one room at a time. If it is practical, isolate this room from the rest of the home by closing windows and doors. This will have the effect of warming up the room a little but also will speed the drying process.

  • Place your dehumidifier

In the worst effected area of your home for the majority of time. Also move it around regularly so that your entire home benefits. Using your dehumidifier this way should dramatically improve your home and the health of its occupants.

  • Damp is your enemy
Creating conditions where mould, mildew and bacteria thrive at the expense of damage to your home and contents. In addition, you and your family face an increased risk of bronchial and asthmatic illness. So what can be done? Moisture Cure has the answer.

  • Don’t forget about your

Home Office Computers, printers, scanners, faxes, in fact all electronic equipment, are affected by excessive humidity. High humidity not only allows mould and mildew to grow and spread, it also encourages rust which is deadly to electronic components.

  • Dust mites aren’t the

Problem it’s their skins. Dust mites shed their skins just like a snake and because they are very light, the skins float in the air we breathe in. Along with dust mite faeces, the skins are what irritate our respiratory tract and often are the cause of asthma attacks, breathing difficulties and other equally horrible health issues.

  • Going away?

Use the continuous drainage option. To keep your home fresh and dry while you are away for a period of time, all you need to do is attach a suitable size hose to drain the water from your dehumidifier down the floor waste in your bathroom or laundry or kitchen sink. The dehumidifier can keep on operating without the water container having to be emptied every day.

  • Unusually high humidity

levels or prolonged damp conditions are unhealthy for everyone, particularly for the very young and the very old. Mould and mildew will aggravate the respiratory system and will also increase the problems of allergies sufferers. Lower the humidity levels in your home and this will lower the levels of mould mildew and even rust.

    • Don’t forget your bedding
and mattresses, as well as your leather shoes, belts handbags, and valuable clothing in the wardrobe can be damaged by mould and mildew. We recommend you regularly remove your blankets and sheets from your bed to allow your dehumidifier to extract all the excess moisture from your mattress and pillows.

  • Humidity and Condensation

leads to Mould, Mildew & Bacteria. Humidity levels over 70% will allow mould and mildew to “colonize” or grow on most natural and absorbent materials including leather, clothing, paper, paintings, electronics and many more surfaces in your home. A dehumidifier will lower humidity levels and reduce the chance of mould and mildew growth.

  • Fresh Air and Sunshine

is best. After your new dehumidifier has been removing moisture from your home for about a week, start to increase the ventilation. Open windows and doors allowing sunshine in and fresh clean air to circulate into every room.

  • The water collected

from your dehumidifier is great for your garden, your indoor plants and even to top up your fish tank. Lots of our customers have found the pH level of this water does not need any acid or alkaline adjustments and so is harmless to the fish, animals and plants.

  • Choose the right size

dehumidifier for your home or work place. Our qualified staff will listen to what you are trying to achieve and suggest the appropriate model and size for your needs. It’s no use buying a large capacity unit for a small area and vice versa.
